Educate, Advocate, Empower
“Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the cause of the window.” - Isaiah 1:17
Meet Grace and Stacy two overachieving mothers that want to make a positive change for mothers and their children in underprivileged communities. With their primary goal being to raise money and provide safe working environments for women in Haiti by working closely with fair trade partners.
Espwa started when co-founders Grace and Stacey went on a missions trip to Haiti. They were heartbroken over the poverty that was tearing families apart. As mom's themselves, they knew they had to do something. The answer, Espwa.
With unemployment in Haiti hovering between 60-75%, parents are often left with no choice but to abandon their children in hopes they will find a better life. We have witnessed what happens when parents are offered the opportunity to work and create a life for themselves and their children. Our mission is two fold, in Haiti we walk alongside our fair trade partners to support job creation, fair wages, full family support and empowerment by buying and selling high-quality, hand-made Haitian products to consumers in the United States. Stateside, we are educating consumers on the dangers of fast fashion and the impact we can make by intentional shopping. We are striving to Educate, Advocate, and Empower!
